Ceramic Tile

Ceramic Tiles used to be the most commonly used floor tile, although they still exist as a less expensive alternative for wall-tile and small floor tiles. They tend to crack easily if not installed correctly, so they are most commonly found in tile sizes under 12” x 12”. The glazing on a ceramic tile is much more critical than a porcelain tile because ceramic clay is less dense and therefore not as structurally strong. Good manufacturers use a highly-rated glaze on ceramic tiles to ensure their longevity.
